Commercialized version - dryslide!
The Kovacs Oxidase Reagent has a color change to purple in the presence of cytochrome C; can be used for sensing gram-negative bacteria. Maybe it would be possible for us to try the commercial version of the dryslide, and then think about what does/doesn't work.
